Our story

Why we built ClaroCam

ClaroCam started with family.

Our founder, Matt, built it in honour of his dad, Wally Wensley. Wally was a big-hearted guy who loved a good laugh, was the biggest Leafs fan around, and made a burger people still talk about. Nothing made him prouder than his boys, and being a grandpa lit him up like nothing else.

Wally was also a published author, a crossword addict, and a die-hard game show fan. His happiest days were spent at the lake with family, and he was sure he could dance, even if the disco didn't always agree.

He bounced around a few jobs until he found the one he loved, working underground in the mines. Unfortunately, a mining accident ended all of it. One day on the job changed the rest of his life. He lived with the pain from that injury for years, and it held on to him until the day he passed, far too young for any of us.

Watching what that injury took from his dad stayed with Matt. He came to know that world firsthand too, trying his hand at a lot of trades, working in mining himself, and building ClaroCam while working in the trucking industry.

Behind every hard hat is someone's dad, someone's kid, someone who is supposed to come home tonight. That is why ClaroCam Workforce exists. It flags hazards on the job, writes up inspections and reports in minutes, and keeps compliance paperwork fast and easy. Less time stuck behind a desk means safety teams can spend more time out with the crew, because that's where safety starts, and that's where safety should be documented.

Wally is the reason we take safety so seriously. Every scan is made with him in mind.

And in honour of all the men and women in the workforce today. We thank you, we need you, and we're thinking of you.
